Unstoppable, fearless, and emotionally charged—“Lies All Lies” proves LED are the future of alt rock.
When we heard about the latest release from LED and their song “Lies All Lies,” we immediately jumped in to check out this incredibly talented trio. Lockett Pentz, Layne Olivia, and Edie Yvonne are delivering something bold and undeniably gripping.
Downtuned guitars kick things off with a heavy, magnetic tone that sets the mood instantly. Then come the vocals, delivered with a gritty yet smooth texture, rough around the edges but sweet at the core. The performance absolutely lands. The vocal delivery strikes that perfect balance between unfiltered emotion and tight control. Quickly, the full band comes alive. The drumming drives the rhythm with precise, punchy hits that lay down a sturdy foundation and pull the track forward with unshakable momentum. Meanwhile, the bass rumbles with so much force and presence that it feels almost visible, like you can see soundwaves rippling in the air.
What comes next is completely unexpected and wildly exciting. The song takes off with a blast of production energy: an escalating surge that includes a jaw-dropping, intricate drum fill that feels lightning-fast and full of explosive tension. At the same moment, the vocals lift into a stunning falsetto. Just before the guitars slam back in with a hard-charging assault that ups the intensity. Then, after a quick breath of calm, the entire track detonates into a high-energy storm that feels built for a packed venue. Fans are off their feet, bouncing in time, probably in a full-on mosh pit. The rhythm is hypnotic. The energy is unstoppable.
What also hits hard is the production quality. Every element, from the vocals to the drums to the bass, is distinct, clear, and finely tuned. None of that polish sacrifices the grit. It still sounds raw. It still feels urgent. It still rips like a real-deal alt-rock anthem. The way the mix gives each instrument its own space while maintaining a live-wire vibe is a standout achievement.
The momentum doesn’t stop. The song dips into a slower, breathier vocal stretch. This moment tightens the emotional tension and gets your heart racing, and then it pivots right back into that full-throttle uplift. The transitions are sharp but natural, and each shift feels purposeful. A layer of honest vulnerability gives the track emotional weight even in its most explosive moments. That contrast between delicacy and power gives the song it's punk-like bite, but with a polished alt-pop flair.
The guitar solo hits like a controlled detonation. It’s a flash of distortion and fire that tears through the mix with full force. What follows is a killer production twist: auto-tuned vocal fragments that are so close-up and intimate, they feel like they’re echoing inside your head.
Wrapping it all up, a bass-heavy, gritty undercurrent rumbles beneath the final moments. By the time the last note fades, it’s clear this track is already something iconic.
“Lies All Lies” doesn’t just hint at potential. It announces this trio as a major presence. This group has hit on something rare: youthful urgency with professional-level execution.
We couldn’t have been more impressed. Experiencing this track in its entirety, and blasting it at full volume, was a total thrill ride. There’s serious talent here, serious chemistry, and a sound that demands attention. We can’t wait to hear what’s next and are absolutely hoping to catch them live soon.
