Dan Dalrymple’s “This Night” surges with glowing piano, magnetic confidence, euphoric movement, and the feel of a classic reborn.

Dan Dalrymple’s latest release “This Night” is a glowing homage to the musical greats, but with a contemporary flair we never could have expected.

“This Night” has a beautiful and bright piano opening that conveys a very energized feel to the listener. The striking beat lands with so much impact that it pulls immediate focus to the song, creating a sense of immediate exhilaration.

Then the buildup leads us right into the amazing vocal performance of Dan Dalrymple. As the first time we’ve experienced him, it was such a pleasure to hear this emotional, lower-toned style that felt and sounded like no other. His big, powerful presence is such a pleasure to take in. With the dynamic flair of a dancer, its as if he’s in a playful volley with the arrangement, weaving in and out while allowing each verse to simmer with the listener. We loved this technique, as it gave the performance even more movement, personality, and charm.

Then he comes out swinging with powerful declarations and such expression and emotion.

“To me she looks so fine in the rear view mirror after closing time”

It is such a convergence of perfectly timed musical arrangement, in sync with his magnetic confidence and personality flowing through it all. Without letting the energy go, he grows into soaring and belting moments, with surging pianos raising the mood even higher. It’s a very euphoric feel that’ll make you wonder what year this song was written, because it feels like a classic we always knew, and then Dan Dalrymple chose to bring it to us in such an explosive and magnificent presentation. Mixed in are some terrific organs, and together, it’s an amazing performance.

Dan Dalrymple’s “Closing Time” is shaped by his long-running creative partnership with lyricist Robert Maciejeski. Recorded at JL Studios in Olyphant, Pennsylvania with Joe Loftus and Jay Preston, the release brings together piano, organ, strings, horns, drums, guitars, and full-band energy, while keeping Dalrymple’s melodic and emotional vision at the center.

After hearing “This Night,” none of this was a surprise to us because it feels like a worldwide hit in the making.

We think you should definitely check out “This Night” by Dan Dalrymple.
