We found Dead Summer completely by chance, and "Take it or Leave it" was something we had to share, so if you are here now, lucky you, and you’re welcome. We think we found the next big thing in music, period.
"Take it or Leave it" is a blisteringly hot, but also sexy rock and roll underground hit just waiting to make it to the surface. Opening with a gritty electric guitar combined with a dizzying, eardrum-rattling bassy combo, the instrumentation in "Take it or Leave it" is half the fire, but a true standout as a powerhouse in sound. Coming from a band of just two, you would have fooled me if I wasn’t told first. It’s boisterous, powerful, and gets the attention of anything in earshot.
Dead Summer turn "Take it or Leave it" into a blistering, hook-driven rock statement with gritty force, magnetic vocals, and the kind of explosive energy built to create super fans.
Following the glowing intro, the vocals come in with a serenade after a rock and roll love story. Tantalized by the love, but also tormented by it, is what the lyrics unfold, and the frustration is converted into roaring, held-out expressions of emotion, followed by bursts of volume both vocally and musically. When these two musicians connect onstage, it’s a magic that you won’t be able to shake loose.
Exciting drum fills blast all over your headphones, and the cascading moments like “it’s a bit too late I’m going home” are ones that stick and go on repeat in your head.
There’s a magnificent connection between these two artists that makes the magic happen. It’s a true locked-in flow. The song doesn’t sound like it’s being performed, more like it’s an emotional experience being vocalized. Then, when the guitars take you down the long solo, fueled and driven into the blasting space of the absolutely frenzied drums, it releases the rock and roll endorphins that create super fans.
We are sold, and we are loving Dead Summer and the latest release "Take it or Leave it."
Don’t let this one pass you by. It’s going to make a lot of great playlists even better.

Dead Summer brings together Nate Prevedoros and Michael Wilford, a Victoria, BC two-piece pushing a massive rock sound with only two players behind it. Built on heavy riffs, tight chemistry, and a live energy made to hit hard, the duo is quickly carving out their own lane ahead of their debut EP.
