There’s something about rock music that just feels honest when it’s raw and a little messy. That’s exactly the energy Cloe Givelin brings with her new single "Living in My Own World." It’s emotional, it’s powerful, and it feels like the kind of song you scream in your bedroom at 2 a.m. when no one gets you.

Cloe isn’t just making music, she’s literally living it. Half Hong Kongese, half Welsh, she’s been moving through the world as both an insider and outsider her whole life. She lost her mom, moved to the U.S. totally alone right before Covid, and spent the first year and a half barely talking to anyone besides her doorman. Instead of letting that break her, she turned it into fuel. "Living in My Own World" is her way of saying she’s not waiting around for validation, she’s thriving in her own lane.

The track pulls from her classical side (she’s a trained pianist and harpist) but explodes into gritty rock with shredding guitar and lyrics like “Sometimes I feel like living on another planet / Speaking a language people don’t understand.” It’s the perfect intro to her upcoming debut album SPH, which dives into themes of not belonging, chasing validation, and figuring out life and death—not love songs.

If you’re into The Cranberries or Blondie, you’ll get why Cloe feels like the real deal. She’s not trying to fit in, and that’s what makes her music hit harder. "Living in My Own World" isn’t just a single, it’s an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t belong.
