Angel of the Evening’s “Heroin Blue Light” Builds A Hauntingly Beautiful Visual And Emotional World Of Tragedy, Allure, And Deep Connection

A songstress with a hauntingly beautiful delivery, we were wholly enchanted by the beautiful performance of “Heroin Blue Light” by Angel of the Evening.

The lyric video combines with the opening notes, creating a visual landscape that becomes entirely pivotal to the intensity of this song. The slightly erratic and melancholic guitar oozes a surprising level of sadness and emotion. Its performance presents a feeling of tragedy. We can honestly say we have never gotten this feeling from the strumming of a guitar alone, and it was a very well-executed technique.

Then the powerful and talented Angel of the Evening enters and amplifies the emotion even more. With solemn shots of her walking through a forest in the late afternoon hours, Angel of the Evening feels like a hypnotic enchantress whose sole purpose is to woo you into her emotional spectrum.

Her words, though soft, land with the impact of a thousand pounds, with words like:

“I live through the shadows / I see your unspoken darkness”

Her slow and paced steps in the video, with her longing gazes, leave you hanging on her every word. All the while, the guitar has created perfect cohesion with her vocals. As the song continues, it’s impossible to not feel her allure as she releases a random smile and mesmerizes you with her beauty.

“Heroin Blue Light” left us feeling a deep sense of connection to Angel of the Evening and also ourselves. After we watched the song over and over, we realized her purpose and intent were for us to find ourselves. We kept listening and waiting for the moments where she would let all of her emotions fully release, but then it became apparent that releasing emotion was what she was attempting to teach us how to do. That is what makes this artist and this release so unique.

We loved the way she made us feel our own emotions, and we were unable to look away from her gaze, leaving us longing for more.
