Explosive, visionary, unforgettable — The New Citizen Kane raises the bar with fearless creative mastery.

One of the most compelling voices in underground pop-electro has just kicked off a new wave of creative dominance. The New Citizen Kane is back, and with “Ratbag Joy,” he delivers not just a song but a sensory experience that sets the tone for what’s next. We also had the rare privilege of previewing two more upcoming singles as part of an exclusive look into the Psychedelika era. By the end of it all, we were thoroughly impressed.

The Official Video for “Ratbag Joy” on YouTube hits instantly with visual and sonic adrenaline. Opening on The New Citizen Kane himself while the track storms in with a massive, driving bassline. It’s equal parts euphoric and thunderous. Beautiful people dance through urban dreamscapes, creating an aesthetic that's colorful and electric. The lyrics cut through with sharp contrast. They take you somewhere deeper. You’re caught off guard by how heavy some of these lines feel. The New Citizen Kane isn’t just making you dance. He’s making you think.

“Your sense of high on a low town drive / Money to burn and love on your mind / Search for nothing that’s worth more than five precious minutes of your precious time.”

That’s just the opening. Every lyric that follows sharpens the contrast between the hypnotic, high-gloss exterior and the biting undercurrent pulsing underneath. The song doesn’t just play. It echoes. It asks questions while keeping you moving. Then:

“You’re getting down tonight / A little high tonight / You feel all right tonight / Oh yeah, just escaping life.”

The beat is wildly infectious. This one belongs in a neon-lit roller disco or a late-night club with speakers so loud you feel them in your chest. The ‘80s-tinged rhythm and carnival-ride momentum make you want to throw your head back and let go. But it’s that juxtaposition, that beautiful contradiction of ecstasy and introspection, that makes “Ratbag Joy” so powerful. From passing nods to nightlife excesses to stark warnings about self-destruction, the lyrics come with bite. The delivery is so fluid and magnetic you almost don’t notice until the message sinks in. The New Citizen Kane has pulled off something few can. He’s made a song this critical feel like a celebration. It’s a flex, and it feels effortless.

Scrolling through the comments section proves what we already knew. This song is in everybody’s head, and it’s not going anywhere.

Following that emotional thrill ride, we locked into the Official Video for “Subconscious”, a track that won’t go public until September. We’ve got the early drop. What hit us right away was the shift in approach. With “Subconscious,” The New Citizen Kane doesn’t just show his range. He flexes an entirely new sonic muscle. This one glides in on a sleek, funky groove built on a popping bassline and crisp percussive textures that feel wide open and hypnotically clean. The clap-driven rhythm loops like a slow-burn trance, pulling you in gradually.

Then it happens. The vocals hit. It’s like nothing we’ve heard before. A smooth, rhythmically locked hybrid between singing and stylish spoken delivery slices through the track with an entirely original texture. It’s bold, seductive, and totally unexpected. We don’t know whether this vocal styling found him or he crafted it from scratch, but either way, it lands with perfection. It’s the kind of vocal you recognize instantly but also seek repeated listens like an addiction.

The pacing changes and shifts in cadence are connected brilliantly with the visuals. They are high contrast, eclectic, and freeform, with flashes of blackout dance breaks and avant-garde energy that make the entire experience cinematic. The alignment between vocal rhythm and percussion is dialed in tight. DJs are going to have a field day remixing this one. It’s a goldmine of texture, groove, and mood.

Still riding the high, we dove straight into the Official Video for “I Don’t Need To Say”, slated for release in October. It was a whole new trip. Just when we thought we had The New Citizen Kane’s style pegged, he pivots again. This third visual and track in the series blends everything he’s best at: elite vocal delivery, razor-sharp production instincts, and that uncanny ability to fuse mainstream energy with underground originality. “I Don’t Need To Say” carries that polished club-ready structure, yet it’s still inventive and alive with spontaneity.

Across all three songs, what becomes undeniably clear is that The New Citizen Kane isn’t dabbling in genres. He’s owning them. Whether it’s the provocative brilliance of “Ratbag Joy,” the genre-bending magnetism of “Subconscious,” or the radio-ready fire of “I Don’t Need To Say,” every track feels like a chapter in a fully realized sonic universe. Together, they build a case for The New Citizen Kane as not just a creator. He is a force.

With this vast palette of immersive, unrelenting material, The New Citizen Kane makes one thing loud and clear. His creative ceiling doesn’t exist.

“Ratbag Joy” by The New Citizen Kane is a searing, dance-fueled revelation bursting with intensity and originality.

The New Citizen Kane is an artist who doesn’t follow trends. He generates his own gravitational pull.

After turning heads with the acclaimed The Tales Of Morpheus and the Could Have Been EP, he has returned with fresh material that radiates even more range and power.

The recently unveiled single “San Diego” marks a bold new direction. From its opening notes, the track transports listeners into an intimate, emotionally resonant space that is both cinematic and deeply personal. The songwriting shines with striking clarity, pulling poetic lines straight from the heart and layering them over a smooth, immersive instrumental that pulses with subtle tension. Every element, from the lush vocal delivery to the understated hook, works in harmony to build something unforgettable. The accompanying video brings a visually rich, dreamlike quality to the story. It captures the ache of memory and place.

As the first glimpse into the upcoming Psychedelika album, “San Diego” hints at a project that is going to stretch even further. It never loses its soul.
