Richard William Jenkins fills 'Album One' with expressive performances, unforgettable melodies, and a captivating warmth that makes every song a unique and personal experience

'Album One' by Richard William Jenkins is a beautiful breath of fresh air. It's an incredibly well composed, written, and performed collection of songs in a cohesive compilation of brilliant music that connects while also giving each track its very own identity. I loved it throughout and wholeheartedly recommend this genuinely entertaining album.

“I’m Not Lonely” displays Richard William Jenkins' classic and unique vocal style that sets him apart in a sea of millions. The deep, raspy delivery and storytelling become inimitable. His words land on you, and it feels as if when you hear them, you also physically absorb them into your soul. A bright tone may open the verse while a soft, reverberating finish may end it, but each one is its own distinct and powerful statement. His delivery becomes just as important and impressive as the lyrics. The supporting guitars and bass flow and weave in and out, supplying an even softer but slightly explosive cadence to his vocals. The rising flow and cascading movement are absolutely intoxicating, and once he begins a song, it's impossible to lose focus.

“Your Melodies” has a more intricate guitar opening that feels like the notes are bouncing all around you. Almost like the tapping of rain in the wind, the notes strike briskly, then slowly, and as the pace moves, it never feels like it repeats itself. The break brings in Richard William Jenkins with his most close-up and intimate presentation. Using his compelling and commanding style, he once again unfolds his thoughts in what feels like real time. It's almost as if he's just sharing something deeply personal to him. And because it feels so genuine, it becomes meaningful to the audience. There is a singular sensation that he's only playing the guitar in between each lyrical expression so he has a chance to collect his thoughts. Then, when he's ready, he begins again. It feels like watching a tree grow in fast motion. You see the leaves develop, and every branch feels like part of the magic even though you knew it was coming. Richard William Jenkins' phrasing feels exactly like that. Watching his melodies blossom feels absolutely euphoric.

“No Known Cure” has a radiant quality and rhythm that brings an immediate smile to your face for reasons unknown because it happens before Richard William Jenkins even opens his mouth. The song tells a story, apologizes, and asks for forgiveness, but not for what you would expect. The “No Known Cure” is a secret you need to experience for yourself, but I can reveal that the guitars are emphatic and full of warmth, with an even bigger and more striking quality that leaves you feeling thrilled throughout every single strum.

The only part that makes you so happy when 'Richard William Jenkins Album One' ends is the sheer fact that, thanks to today's click-on-demand world, we can reset and experience this album over and over again.
