Minneapolis band she’s green continue to shape something beautifully their own with swallowtail, a follow-up EP that expands the dreamy, immersive world they have been building since their earliest days in the Minneapolis college DIY scene.
The band, made up of Liam Armstrong, Zofia Smith, Raines Lucas, Kevin Seebeck, and Teddy Nordvold, describe their sound as “moss music,” and the phrase fits. Their work carries a forest-like sense of mystery, texture, and quiet transformation. Inspired by the fantasy worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien and Hayao Miyazaki, along with the glowing shoegaze and dream-pop influence of Slowdive and Cocteau Twins, she’s green create music that feels deeply visual without losing its emotional center.

Their story began with Smith and Armstrong living in a shared house, hearing each other’s bedroom recordings, and eventually turning that creative connection into basement jam sessions and steady shows around the Twin Cities. Their debut EP, Wisteria, introduced the band’s soft-focus sound to a wider audience, with “mandy” growing into a breakout track with more than three million Spotify listens.
Their second EP, chrysalis, recorded in part with Henry Stoehr of Slow Pulp, pushed the band further into shimmering melodies, heavier edges, acoustic warmth, and deeper collaborative songwriting.
