An electrifying sonic triumph that cements Parrotfish as one of the most dynamic forces in modern alt-pop rock.
We fell in love with Parrotfish in mere seconds and almost want to gatekeep this one, but we broke down and wrote this review, and honestly, can’t say enough good about Parrotfish. (Sounds ridiculous - yes, but honestly, the thought ran through our minds.)
“4K Friends” is one of those songs that, whether you’re actively listening or just have it in the background, will literally grab your attention. There’s nothing you wanna do but jump or dance around along with it. The rhythmic base that opens the track was a perfection in a disco dance fusion that this band absolutely knows how to embody into a rock pop melody.
The fact that the lyrics start off like this is also one of the many reasons this song delivers the magic it has:
“I’m in bedroom with my headphones on dancing all night long dancing all alone”
The lyrics of “4K Friends” encapsulate the literal feelings this song brings: a one-on-one romance with Parrotfish that runs straight to our bones. It’s an upbeat pop song. It’s a love song. It’s an 'I’m all alone, but I feel great' song. And Parrotfish pulls this off in the opening moments, and that’s what we loved.
The punchy musical arrangement is the other half of this magic. The beats are driving and feel like you are accelerating the whole time. The rhythmic bass that broke the silence feels like a rolling thunder below your feet, and the guitars chiming with the glowing, resonant chimes are literally like doing a shot of oxytocin straight to the heart. It’s exhilarating.
There was also definitely a lot of effort and production techniques that the artist placed emphasis on in regards to the lyrics in “4K Friends.” The track has a very rhythmic and escalating sensation, with the lyrics feeling like they’re pushing and driving the entire orchestration. It’s got the emphatic pulse that brings strangers together on the dance floor.
Then the anthem-style explosion hits, and it’s something we could have never expected. The song changes from a slightly infused disco beat to an explosive rock and roll tsunami sound that is going to be a live-song sensation across the United States.
“Every single day”!!!!!!
will be the chant that Parrotfish will own on festival stages everywhere, in our prediction.
Then we heard:
“Why don’t we stay and order a pizza cause baby I don’t got the dough to go out”
Come on, you gotta love this! This double entendre comedy within the lyrics is the icing on this delicious cake (or should we say topping on this pizza?). It’s an absolute delight.
“4K Friends” is an absolute viral infection waiting to happen. There’s just no way anybody who wants to be in a good mood and loves to have fun can resist a song this good. There’s no downtime at all. The music kicks off with an explosion, the vocals are fantastic, and the lyrics are packed with Easter eggs of fun. The entire package is delivered with a performance from the band that’s nothing short of exceptional. If you’re looking for the next hit song for your playlist, trust us - this is it.
The production hits harder than you’d ever expect, too. It all starts with a 70s-style bass-infused beat, then erupts into a rock and roll anthem, before transforming again into a 2025 electric dance pop EDM autotuned masterpiece, it's the kind of sonic experience we’ve truly never had before.
You cannot pass this one up!!! Trust us!

Parrotfish’s “4K Friends” is a genre-fusing thrill ride that erupts with charisma, charm, and unrelenting energy.
Behind the explosive sound of Parrotfish are Conor Lynch, Joseph Cadrecha, Matthew Rodriguez, and Trace Chiappe. They form a tight-knit crew that blends Florida roots and Nashville energy with striking musical synergy.
While the band resists fitting neatly into any one box, their music is consistently bold, textured, and unafraid to go full throttle. There’s a reckless joy in what they do, a raw charm that makes every track feel alive. Their musical identity is built around funky riffs, undeniable grooves, and unexpectedly rich vocal harmonies that feel both rebellious and intimate. The band’s philosophy is clear. They want fans to feel free to be fully themselves, to tap into something joyful, messy, loud, and real.
We’re so excited to have found Parrotfish and can’t wait to hear more from them.
