Kamila Csenge comes into this release with the kind of background that immediately explains the depth, precision, and emotional intelligence in her playing. She is a Czech guitarist and composer, a Berklee College of Music graduate, and earned summa cum laude honors along with the John LaPorta Award. Her sound lives in the world of modern instrumental jazz, shaped by rich harmonies, odd meters, and the kind of musical imagination that pulls from greats like Pat Metheny, Billy Childs, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Chick Corea.
Before her time at Berklee, Kamila studied jazz and classical guitar at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, building the foundation for a career that has already taken her across the US and Europe. She has performed in everything from intimate duos and trios to full-band settings, appearing at respected venues and events in New York, Boston, Berlin, and the Czech Republic. Her performance history includes ShapeShifter Lab, Ryles Jazz Club, Prague Congress Center, Williamsburg Music Center, Shrine, Hybernia Theatre, the New England Guitar Festival, and the International Festival of Concert Melodrama.
Her debut album Behind the Universe introduces "Music Forever" as a powerful statement of purpose. The song reflects on the way music is experienced today, often pushed through the lens of product, performance, and marketability.
