Goose Light the Fuse With New Single “Torero”

Goose are back with a new release, “Torero,” and it’s another exciting step toward their sixth studio album, BIG MODERN!, arriving through No Coincidence Records.

The track opens in a shadowy, cinematic space, with synth textures, echoing drums, and a bassline that keeps pushing forward. From there, “Torero” builds with tension and confidence, letting Rick Mitarotonda’s guitar work slice through the atmosphere while Peter Anspach’s synths give the song a wide, electric glow. It’s moody, driving, and built for the kind of big release moments Goose fans love.

“Torero” follows “Good2B,” the album’s first single, which helped launch the strange, playful world around BIG MODERN!. The rollout has already included cryptic citywide teasers, online puzzles, a Jake Lacy-starring video, and a memorable Madison Square Garden courtside appearance with the band in bright yellow “FACE” hoodies.

The album itself points toward Goose’s growing ambition, mixing their improvisational roots with polished songwriting, synth-rock energy, orchestral touches, heartland piano moments, and big choral textures. For a band that came up through basement shows, DIY fan-building, YouTube, Bandcamp, nugs.net, and relentless touring, BIG MODERN! feels like another bold leap.

Goose remain Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz, and Cotter Ellis, and “Torero” shows them still expanding their world without losing their spark.

Listen to “Torero,” check out the video rollout, and follow Goose for more from BIG MODERN!
