Sierra Ellis releases "Higher place" and it's a window to a soul.
Sierra Ellis’ new track "Higher place," says so much about this artist and their journey and how it affected her, but even more important and admirable is how she planned to share this and let others, especially young people, learn from these experiences. The list of difficult situations we endure is grand, but this young adult had the loss of her father added to it and that's one many can understand to be seriously life-altering. Sierra Ellis has proven that how we rebound, and who we help as a result are what make us great. We can let our experiences destroy or empower us. Starting with her brother buying her software to record, this family began the healing process (shout out to your wonderful brother for being another force of positivity in the world). Sierra then chose to pen lyrics that can help other youth affected in this way and wound up with this wonderful song as a result.
Using lyrics like:
It's why I'm so sleepy
Pride is a thief and it's greedy
Can't let the devil deceive me
Excellently worded, I can instantly relate to this type of situation.
As far as the performance goes, the vocals are beautifully sung and very nicely display the message of this song combining elements of Alternative R&B and Rap. Sierra started at age 14, and then began recording at home at age 15, graduating to needing better tools she utilized Next Level studio in Atlanta, Georgia with engineer Jerry.
