We heard about the latest album release, Be someone from the electrifying and rapidly rising artist, Dozenz, so we checked it out, and we’re thrilled to share our thoughts with you.
Right out of the gate, the title track, “Be Someone,” bursts onto the scene with unrelenting energy. Blazing drums and searing guitars create a sensation of sheer velocity, as if you’re flying down the highway at 150 mph. We were genuinely stunned by the vocal performance, powerful, crisp, and soaring with an exhilarating intensity. The track takes flight with an intricate drum fill that launches the song into overdrive.
From the opening lyrics:
“they said you wanna be someone / they said I gotta be someone,”
the urgency and passion are palpable. The vocal styling here is absolutely magnetic. The intonation and cadence are bold and infectious, carrying a raw, anthemic energy that makes this track a non-stop thrill ride. It’s rare to hear an artist channel the grandeur and power of U2, but Dozenz pulls it off effortlessly. There’s a shimmering polish in the vocal delivery that makes every note feel larger than life. The combination of technical precision and emotional intensity makes this track a standout, and the balance between clarity and raw grit in the supporting musical arrangement adds to its immense appeal. The upbeat tempo and driving force of the song transfer directly to the listener, creating a rock opera experience packed with explosive, firework-like energy.
The production here is nothing short of masterful. One particularly brilliant moment is when the vocals reverberate and fade into the lead guitar solo, a sonic detail that feels destined to become the kind of iconic moment fans scream for at a festival. When the anthemic delivery peaks and the beats slam down, it’s a fist-in-the-air moment that resonates across audiences. The combination of top-tier production, stellar vocal execution, and seamless engineering elevates “Be Someone” to legendary potential. The outro is so exhilarating that you don’t want it to end, yet its dramatic conclusion provides the perfect finish to an incredible track, and an even more perfect introduction to the album.
With so many standout tracks, there was a wealth of incredible moments to take in, but another song that immediately captivated us was “Falls Apart (Pick Yourself Up).”
Opening with a beautifully delicate synth arrangement, the song carries an ethereal quality, almost like a symphony of electronic orchestration with a metallic organ infusion. It’s a refreshing and captivating soundscape that clears the mind and sets the stage for the vocal entry. And then when the vocals strike, it’s pure magic. The sustained, vibrato-tinged notes, combined with a breathy falsetto, create an unforgettable opening that grips the listener in a hypnotic trance. Just when you think the song has reached its peak beauty, a gentle piano interlude transitions into a punchy, rhythmic surge, driving the track forward with a harmony-infused chant of:
“Pick yourself up.”
The drum work is intricate, the vocal delivery is smooth, and the production techniques highlight every dynamic rise and fall, making the track a breathtaking experience from start to finish.
The final track that caught us completely off guard, but in the best way possible, was “Say My Name.” Blending 90s new wave with darkwave elements, this track radiates a gripping, electrifying energy. It’s a song built for massive festival crowds, designed to ignite a surge of movement and connection. The relentless musical arrangement takes on a life of its own, it feels almost sentient, like a force rising from the ground to command attention. The production work adds a mesmerizing, visual depth, akin to the shifting shimmer of iridescent paint, always changing yet consistently enthralling. The track’s rolling momentum evokes the exhilarating sensation of galloping on horseback, an instinctual thrill that heightens the senses. Once again, the vocal delivery is nothing short of extraordinary, exuding boundless energy and passion.
Once again, one of the most impressive aspects of this album is the precision and clarity of the mixing and mastering. Every track is sonically pristine, world-class in execution, and a testament to Dozenz’s undeniable talent.
Overall, we are beyond impressed with this release and can’t believe we’re just now discovering Dozenz. Their ability to not only craft incredible music but with Be someone to construct an immersive environment for listeners is truly exceptional. We can’t wait to see their continued rise and to experience the impact of their artistry on a global scale.

A masterful fusion of anthemic rock and cinematic energy, 'Be Someone' is an exhilarating ride that demands to be heard.
Dozenz is the brainchild of Saleh Hamed and Ahmed Jamali, two pioneers of the alternative rock movement in Abu Dhabi. Their journey through the UAE music scene has been nothing short of groundbreaking. As former members of Gray Test, they helped establish a new era of rock music in the region, even performing alongside international acts at Dubai’s legendary Gig on the Green in 2003. Hamed later joined Juliana Down, a band that achieved national success, signed with Sony BMG, and became the UAE’s best-selling artist of the decade, earning an MTV Europe Music Award nomination.
Their current project, Dozenz, fuses anthemic alternative rock with cinematic electronic textures, blending the expansive soundscapes of The Killers, Depeche Mode, and Tame Impala into something uniquely their own. As Hamed puts it, “We’ve always been about breaking new ground, Dozenz is the next chapter, and honestly? We’re just getting started.”
We love that we found this duo and think they are going to be groundbreaking artists!
