Crones Release Explosive New Album "Human Error", and we did a deep dive into it and absolutely loved it!
The first track, “Arsenic,” is a blazing surge of energy with thunderous, rolling guitars. You’re absolutely going to fall in love with the sheer intensity of this track. The vocal performance and overall delivery are exhilarating. There’s so much rock ‘n’ roll influence on this track that it’s hard to credit just one band—Crones pulls from the best of hard rock and creates something truly unique. We can confidently say this song doesn't "sound like" anything else because it really belongs in a category of its own. It grooves, it drives, and at the same time, it feels like a runaway train ready to jump the rails. The vocal presentation is reminiscent of a powerful chorus, delivered in such a captivating way that it's almost hypnotic.
Next up is “Dust Cloud,” which opens with a lengthy build-up, full of intricate drum fills and understated guitars, creating a haunting yet chilled atmosphere. The vocal delivery here is phenomenal. While rock ‘n’ roll often embraces chaos, this track proves that you can have a clean performance without losing any of the grit or raw energy. "Dust Cloud" is a track you could easily unwind to with a beer in hand. The guitars are especially noteworthy—catchy and unforgettable. The solo here feels like a glorious throwback to the golden days of rock, and let’s be honest, we’re all glad those long, searing solos are making a comeback.
Now we move to “Dirt,” and let’s be clear—this track is pure fire. The vocals, somewhere between Rob Halford and Ronnie James Dio, bring a full-on screamfest that you’re going to love. The vocal execution is razor-sharp, cutting through the track like napalm. If you could combine gritty guitars and explosive drums into a single sound, this would be it. While it’s tough to pick a favorite, “Dirt” is a standout. There’s a part of this song that feels like a pre-chorus or chorus, with a repeated “yeah, yeah, yeah” that just crushes it. It’s an absolute powerhouse moment.
Then we hit “Vegas Years,” and for a second, we thought we’d started listening to the wrong album. The shift in style is extreme—soft and gentle, miles away from the rest of the tracks. This one has a Grateful Dead vibe, with a completely different style from the rest of the album, but it still works great. It’s a super chill track, with perhaps the best vocals on the album. The band shines here with tight rhythms and infectious energy, showing their versatility. Standout track.
Finally, “Insects Always Die Young” closes the album, and you won’t predict where this one is headed based on the band or the song title alone. From the first 30 seconds, with the twanging bass, you’re hooked. This track proves that Crones is fearless—they push boundaries, exploring every corner of the rock spectrum while keeping a raw, gritty sound. They maintain a thrash-meets-back-alley vibe, yet everything is executed with precision and performance skill. Crones is a band you should definitely be watching, and I can only imagine how incredible they are live.
We’ve covered some of the tracks for you, but the rest is up to you—grab this album and dive in.
