Adam + Attack By Fire Turns “Country Fired, Pt. 1” Into A Tantalizing, Firework-Filled Outlaw Country Journey Of Poetry-Level Imagery And Heartbreak
Adam + Attack by Fire’s 'Country Fired, Pt. 1' immediately captures a unique category, proving his toolbox of creativity is never empty with this latest album.
"Bury Her Bones" started it all for us, and the smooth, silky baritone vocals of Adam feel like a seduction because you can’t focus on anything else once it begins. His powerful yet nimble movements let him dance all over the music at all speeds.
And with a deeply rooted message, he feels like he’s warning everyone, but with a lighthearted delivery, he paints a picture that, if you gloss over it, the message might be missed:
“And the devil goes pour me a shot / bathe in the fire and dance a lot”
This line and many others are riddled with poetry-level imagery that definitely raises eyebrows. Mixed with the tantalizing fiddle and stomping drums, it feels designed to gently poke at your senses, with a subliminal musical admonition that you need to pay close attention. Then his soft and sweet tone beautifully glides in and flows into the mix, finalizing his intent to keep you fixated. A terrific opener to this album.
“Mumble Beer” is designed to be a total classic, and we see a side of Adam we are not used to. The upbeat and comedic delivery was totally unexpected. This song will light up a room, especially if it serves beer and is full of fun-loving folk. The upbeat anthem drumbeat and hilarious lyrics like “all gassed up like a pickup truck,” along with the crowd participation clap sections, are something country lore will speak of for decades. “Whoah whoah whoah” will be a honky-tonk anthem that’s bound to make a room full of strangers become friends faster than a tornado running through the woods!
“Sacramento” wraps this up. With a close-up and raw one-take feel, he seems up close and personal, making this more of an experience than just a listen. The vocals are exceptionally prominent, making this a perfect moment for his strong points to glisten. This is one of Adam’s best performances when it comes to creating a storyline experience from a listener's perspective. The way this song connects the love story to what feels like something beautiful, only for it to end with a "dead heart" and absolute heartbreak, is a tear-jerking moment you won’t see coming. The poet within Adam is a powerful weapon he wields majestically.
Deciding to go all in on a country album led to the creation of “Country Fired, Pt. 1.” Adam Tarsitano, aka Adam + Attack by Fire, perfectly personifies this moniker. His music feels like a display of fireworks while unraveling layered stories like Q. Tarantino, all within a voice rooted in outlaw country. This album is a work of art and a campfire classic in the making. Within the twenty songs on this project, he explores new realms, and it will bring a tear and even a smile when you take the whole journey.
