We got together with The Radio Addicts for an exciting interview to delve into the stories and happenings behind the making of this latest release and learn more about the artist in "The Cage" Digital Magazine and we are excited to share it with you!

The Cage: Hello The Radio Addicts, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more excited to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.
Q. The Radio Addicts have had a wild run in a very short time, from sold out shows and festival moments to radio support and press attention. When you look back at everything that has happened since forming in 2024, what moment made you realize this band was becoming something bigger than you first imagined? What was the biggest surprise, or the one thing you did not expect, within all of these moments?
A. It’s all been pretty unbelievable really, we playing Made In Manchester Festival both days in our home time this year is pretty cool, as that’s the first festival I (Luke) ever went to as a fan and I realised that music people were my people. Selling out The Eagle Inn within a week five months before the show was a massive and amazing surprise. But becoming friendly with musicians we look up to like Florentenes, Revivalry and Freight, realising that they knew who our band are, was a pretty cool thing. We are proper lucky.
Q. What has the experience been like reaching this level of attention so early on? Does this feel like the path you expected for The Radio Addicts, or has it taken you somewhere completely different than you first imagined?
A. Amusingly, the biggest change for me has been that people now know who I am around school - ha ha. We are just massively grateful for all the love and support we have received from people. We know we are young and we are an emerging band, and we are so, so grateful for everyone who streams our music, comes to our shows, shares a social media post, anything. Our expectations started out just for Daniel and I to play a couple of open mike nights, and what The Radio Addicts is becoming is already beyond our wildest dreams. We love it. Absolutely love every minute of it. We are proper lucky.
Q. What do you hope happens next for the band? Are you hoping for more big moves in music, a step into movies or another creative space, or something completely different?
A. We are currently living our dream really right now. We get to travel to new cities and new towns and play to new people everywhere we go. This is beyond our wildest dreams. We are making new friends everywhere we go. Not many people get to do that! We would love to continue to doing this, if that one day leads to a label etc who knows, it would be incredible to make an album we have about three albums worth of songs so you never know. We would love to record at Rockfield Studios like so many amazing bands before us.
Q. Luke, you met Bruce Springsteen! Your backstage invite to meet The Boss must have been a surreal moment. Tell us a little bit about that experience. What do you think will be the thing you remember most and carry with you from it?
A. Yes it was a massively surreal moment in all honesty, we were not expecting it on the night, we were not told in advance it was happening. He was a lovely gent, and I was a little bit awestruck! I kind of wish I had said something really poignant and then and asked him to collab on our next single “Party Like It’s The 90s” - ha ha but in the end we shook hands I said how much I was looking forward to his show at the Arena that night and we had some photos. He gave me some merch was cool and I’ve kept it safe at home. One thing I carry from it, was how he made time for me and the others that day when he probably had a million things to do before taking to the arena stage.
Q. What do you hope fans and critics take away and remember about The Radio Addicts after experiencing “Let's Party Like It's The 90s”?
A. I hope that people enjoy it as a fun upbeat anthem, that they can play anywhere to create a happy and excited vibe and I hope that they stream it time and time again on Spotify! It’s a big arms aloft upbeat song along banger!!
Q. Live performances seem to be the band’s go-to experience, and also a crowd favorite, for your music. What do you feel is different about the live expression of your songs compared to the studio recordings? Where do you feel the most exhilaration, right before the show, during the show, after the show, or somewhere else entirely?
A. On the stage is where we feel most comfortable and we have the best possible time when we see people in the audience enjoying our show and our songs. It’s the best possible feeling in the world seeing people have a great time at our show. We love that moment more than anything else, that’s where the exhilaration really lies for us, in making our audience happy
Q. What is one song The Radio Addicts would love to cover that represents who you might be if you were growing up in a different era? For example, if you were your age now in the 1970s, what song would best represent you and your bandmates, and what would it say about your roots in music? Please pick the era that you feel most closely connected to.
A. We feel most closely connected to the music era now, and Daniel and I are absolutely loving The Kairos - especially Punchline Fistfight - that is a banger. As you can probably tell from Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s, we love the 90s music of Oasis, Stone Roses, The Verve and Travis, that Brit Pop period before mobile phones and everyone being an amateur photo or video journalist documenting everything looks ace. The 90s was when it looked like you could really party without worrying about becoming a meme the next day!
Q. With “Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s” leading into a 16-date summer tour, festival slots, and support shows with bands like The Kairos, Pet Needs, Freight, Spangled, and Sleeper, what are you most excited to experience on stage this summer? Looking beyond those shows, what would feel like the next dream step for The Radio Addicts, a late night talk show, an even bigger festival, smaller intimate shows or something else entirely?
A. The most exciting moment of Summer 2026 will be playing a massive headline show at The Deaf Institute in Manchester. From when we started a band we have watched some of heroes play there and it is our dream to play that venue. We can’t wait for it to happen and we would love it if we could see you down the front.
