Here’s how it went:

Begin Interview:

Hello Sabrina Nejmah, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more intrigued to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.

Q. We loved “Deep End.” Your emotional yet soft vocals were exhilarating. You have such a beautiful tone and cadence. When did you first discover your voice, and what moment shifted it from something personal and intimate to recording with the intention of sharing it with a worldwide audience, setting the stage for the powerful career we're seeing now?

A. I always loved to sing. When I was a child my parents encouraged me a lot. As a teenager we did some recordings in our home studio. The feedback I've got from people to whom I showed the results was a great motivation to continue.

Q. Since "Deep End" speaks to emotional complexity, does it ever feel difficult to reveal so much of yourself in such a comment-and-judgment-driven world, or do you find it liberating to express that level of vulnerability through your music?

A. For me music is about feelings. Music without emotion sounds dead in my ears. So how could I sing without expressing feelings? For me this is natural.

Q. You and your father co-wrote "Deep End." Could you share how the collaboration process evolved?

A. My father is as enthusiastic about music as I am. We had a jam session at home where he started with this jazz inspired chord progression. Then I started to sing and the song evolved. Later my father finished the song and the lyrics. It was great fun. We have worked on some more songs that we will finish for release later this year.

Q. “Deep End” explores the concept of longing for depth. In today’s fast-paced world, do you find that there’s a constant pressure to stay connected to superficial or surface-level things, whether that’s in relationships, social media, or something else?

A. Yes, there is. I see that almost everybody including me is often distracted by social media, distracted from what really matters, like being with people we love, listen to what the say, care for their needs.

Q. What is your relationship with your hometown of Hamburg in terms of creativity? Does the city or its culture inspire the music you create, or do you find that your inspiration comes from places outside of your immediate environment?

A. Well, Hamburg is certainly a cultural rich and very alive place to be. There are so many concerts and festivals and other musicians around. A lot of inspriation I get from travelling and meeting new folks. I am still young and feel like soaking impressions like a sponge.

Q. Since this is your debut single, do you feel any sense of vulnerability releasing such a personal piece of music into the world? How do you handle the pressure that often comes with that?

A. Until now I did not have much pressure. I guess I am not famous enough. But still it feels risky to expose myself as an artist.

Q. The song was recorded in Hamburg with Markus Norwin Rummel. What was the dynamic like working with him in the studio, and what unique contributions did he bring to the sound of "Deep End"?

A. My father, Markus and I matched up extremely well. There was such a good working atmosphere while recording. Markus arranged all the instruments and sounds and did an excellent job in coaching me in the recording process.

Q. Your song "Deep End" touches on both personal and universal themes of wanting more from life. Do you feel a responsibility to create music that not only reflects your own experiences but also resonates with a wider audience, bringing them healing and peace?

A. I feel responsibility not to encourage bad things with my music like hate and violence or pollution. I want that my music brings good vibes and enjoyable moments to the listeners.

Q. Being someone who enjoys both contemporary music and the music you grew up with, how do you find your personal style evolving over time? Do you see yourself constantly experimenting, or are there specific sounds you feel particularly drawn to?

A. In fact I am constantly experimenting as I always find new musical styles and elements. My personal style is still evolving lots and I can't tell you what my music that I create in a year will sound like.

Q. What do you want people to remember most about you after hearing this song and reading this interview?

A. I hope that people like my music and are interested in what songs I will create in the future.

Q. And finally, we can't thank you enough for sharing these intimate details! So, what's next? Can you give us the inside scoop on your upcoming projects and what fans should be excited about? We'd love to be the first to share the news!

A. There will be two more songs this year that I already recorded. They are now being made ready and the working versions that I have heard are fantastic. I am also very excited.

Sabrina Nejmah, thank you so much, we appreciate you taking the time to talk to us!
