Daring, euphoric, and emotionally rich, MISTR (Cover EP) unveils a new dimension of RZN8R’s artistry.
We were recommended to check out the music of RZN8R and their latest EP, MISTR (Cover EP), and we’re genuinely thrilled to be sharing this standout release with you.
Kicking things off with the track “Get You,” the EP immediately reveals itself to be a masterclass in mood-setting and sonic evolution. The opening synthesizer tones on “Get You” are tranquil and contemplative, but also serve as the perfect soft-focus curtain lift for what’s to follow. RZN8R enters with a gentle, almost whispered vocal performance that is so emotionally delicate it instantly locks in your attention. The soft finger-snap percussion gives the entire experience a lived-in, intimate feel, like being front row at a secret show in an undisclosed venue.
What follows is an immersive experience in vocal phrasing and dynamic escalation. RZN8R’s delivery glides smoothly from one bar to the next, each note tethered to the next like a silk thread. It is hypnotic, continuous, and carefully controlled. His tone is lush, refined, and emotive, setting a tone of pure vulnerability. Just as you settle into this soft reverie, the supporting musical arrangement starts to shift. A new energy creeps in, gradual at first, then mounting with velocity. Suddenly, the track pulses forward with kinetic excitement, a wash of ambient synths spinning like starlight while syncopated beats rush in like a strobe-lit surge on a dancefloor.
The production flourishes are jaw-dropping. There’s a swirling effect in the sound design that feels like being pulled into a vortex of movement, and it absolutely slaps when it hits full stride. Layered within this electronic architecture are vocal harmonies that seem to echo into infinity, adding a celestial shimmer that complements RZN8R’s vocal performance in stunning fashion. It is a high-energy sonic moment that feels euphoric, immediate, and unforgettable.
Then, in a move that shows masterful command of pacing and emotional resonance, RZN8R brings the momentum back down. This return to stillness feels purposeful. It is as if he’s daring us to follow him, to trust that another lift is coming. And when it arrives, it’s transcendent. The beat reemerges, this time with an even more heightened sense of levity, as though it’s floating rather than thumping. RZN8R’s falsetto shines here, angelic and electrifying, a voice that feels both fragile and invincible. By the end of the track, it’s clear. You’re not just listening to RZN8R; you’re surrendering to the full breadth of his sonic universe.
With our hearts still racing, we dove into “Pyramid,” which immediately lands like a heat-seeking missile made of rhythm and electricity. The beat feels razor-sharp and entrancing, evoking an almost visual strobe effect in the mind’s eye. The track’s intensity is balanced by a breathtaking moment of stillness. RZN8R strips everything back to a bare piano line and solo vocal. No beats. No noise. Just presence. This raw, unfiltered delivery reveals the artist’s depth and control. It is a gorgeous contrast that deepens the song’s emotional weight.
The sensuality of this track is undeniable. The pairing of intricate, shimmering production with vocals that lean into desire and vulnerability creates a deeply affective atmosphere. It’s not just electronic; it’s also deeply, undeniably human. The layers of sound flicker like candlelight while his voice commands attention, swinging between restraint and release.
Everything, from the delayed beats to the crystalline piano touches, builds a soundscape that is seductive, ethereal, and utterly entrancing. It’s a clear highlight of MISTR (Cover EP) and a track that deserves to be played in packed clubs and private bedrooms alike.
Then comes “U Don’t Have To Call,” and with it, a reminder that RZN8R isn’t just interpreting these songs. He’s transforming them. This cover preserves the original’s R&B DNA but expands it, injecting a rhythmic propulsion and atmosphere that elevate it far beyond homage. His vocal phrasing is uniquely his own, delivering the song with a sensitivity and swagger that reimagines the familiar in a bold new light. His take doesn't just pay respect to the source. It redefines it through his artistic lens.
By the time this closer fades out, one thing is clear. MISTR (Cover EP) is more than just a reinterpretation. It is a complete rebirth, led by an artist whose voice and vision demand attention.
This EP showcases an artist in full command of his creative powers. You owe it to yourself to experience RZN8R’s work, not only this latest release but his full body of music. We’re confident you’ll find something here that lingers long after the final beat fades.

MISTR (Cover EP) by RZN8R is a stunning fusion of sensual vocals, exhilarating production, and genre-defying brilliance.
RZN8R’s journey into music has been anything but traditional. Perhaps that’s exactly why his artistry feels so vital. Classically trained as a countertenor, his roots in choral and operatic traditions now feed into a boundaryless exploration of dance music. Genre lines are blurred, emotions run high, and the body is invited to move. A Brooklyn-based artist by way of Oakland, RZN8R draws from a multicultural palette of sounds and experiences that include everything from amapiano and stutter house to gospel and baile funk. This collision of influences results in music that feels deeply intentional, sonically expansive, and emotionally charged.
A key figure in shaping his work is longtime collaborator and vocal producer Kaeli Earle. She sharpens the vocal intricacies in RZN8R’s recordings and also brings a rare creative intimacy to the project. She stood beside him as “Best Woman” at his wedding. Their collaboration breathes into every note, adding a warmth and clarity that defines the MISTR (Cover EP) experience.
We're so excited to have found RZN8R and can’t wait to hear what’s next from this exceptional artist.
