Immediately, the opening notes are rhythmic and emotional. Their repeated progression puts you into a slightly hypnotic state. As I followed the notes, I realized I was constantly seeking a change. A change in the pattern. Even though I liked it, I was still searching for something new. It made me realize how life is a constant search for change. Even when I have something beautiful, I keep seeking new experiences.
The visuals started to shift. From a digital world created by one person to be digitally consumed by another, I am suddenly shown the forest. This non-digital world (is it though?) feels as if it has been placed on display for us. Wow. Kristjan Ruus has hijacked my mind and my consciousness, leaving my brain to dissect his imagery, his thoughts, and his micro expressions. By this point, I was completely blown away.

The notes changed (or did they?). The images became more vibrant, yet they continued to show digital imagery as it enhanced the music. The connection felt intentional. Is Kristjan Ruus an omnipresent force in a digital world? Does he possibly have more power than I am led to believe? His fingers move about and create a sound I now love. It feels like it has become something within me.
Then I was completely stunned. Kristjan Ruus is looking up to the sky. He is seeing something I cannot, and that force is lighting him up from above. Then, with an almost horror film-like edit, he breaks the wall and suddenly stares directly at me. This was wildly unexpected and unnerving, but dare I say it, it made me feel my own presence. I was so shocked that my entire nervous system seemed to halt. How can one man, with almost no imagery, not even one word, and only one instrument, capture, control, and dictate the mind and body of another? I’m not sure how, but Kristjan Ruus truly did this all within 1 minute.
Kristjan Ruus has a vision and a power that he uses sparingly to achieve maximum impact. At first, I questioned whether a one-minute music film could truly earn the title of “film.” After seeing it, I understood exactly why it did. In fact, it delivered more than many films combined ever could.
