“Red Carpet”, off Kipani's recently released album Spoiled Ingrates has little to do with paparazzi and limousines but is chock full of the performance scenes that make up a drama-filled theatrical performance.
"Red Carpet" made me realize something. We are the performers!! Our life itself is literally our own Broadway show …and most of the time… it’s filled with pain and little bits of happiness but ultimately makes us realize we missed a lot of red flags that are what this Red Carpet is created from (get it!!). I loved the lyrical expression laid bare in this song. The answer is FINALLY here … ART DOES IMITATE LIFE!!! Kipani made me realize by folding in so many Broadway-esque images and sounds (nice job by the engineering team to create this audible feel - Mastered by Oscar Zambrano & Grammy-winning engineers of Zampol Productions and mixed by Daniel Alba, whose credits include Jack White, Miley Cyrus, and Japanese Breakfast) that we need nothing beyond the pain brought in by these shitty humans surrounding us to fill volumes of books, plays, and songs with unending pain!
With a gritty guitar opening filled with a sense of slight aggression, it’s as if the guitars are a bouncer pushing you back with a warning that you don't have power over me anymore, and the drums are the boots of Kipani stomping behind like “we are finally done letting your words hold us down!” This track leads quickly into Kipani exclaiming to someone on a phone call and finally done with the troll attacks and with a “We honestly just don’t care anymore” to end investing more time into these cowardly critics. A beautiful drop and lift explodes back in that you will love.
Vocally and musically this track makes it feel like I am in a theater filled with all the lovers, and the haters couldn’t get a ticket because it’s sold out!!! The haters laid the red carpet but because of that, they can no longer see the show!
The lead singer, Tiffany, expressed her excitement, "We can't wait for our fans to hear Spoiled Ingrates. We poured our hearts and souls into this album, and we're excited to share it with the world."
There is so much more and the listening is great. Make sure you have wine and tissue and be ready for your emotions to be excreted with this angst-filled performance!
