“Pulse” is a jaw-dropping debut packed with poetic precision, stunning vocals, and unmatched emotional story and depth.

After learning about the story behind a standout 15-year-old rising artist and seeing the early chapters of her creative path unfold, we were eager to dive into her debut single, “Pulse” by Chloe Sofia. What made the experience even more compelling was the release of a music video on YouTube that perfectly captures the mood and meaning of the track, so we headed there first to take it all in.

The video for “Pulse” opens with subtle cues that foreshadow the emotional tone of the song. Chloe appears in her bedroom, seemingly preparing for a night out while scrolling through DMs from a possible romantic interest.

The soundtrack begins with a chiming, atmospheric electric guitar layered with restrained, almost spectral drum beats, crafting a chilled yet slightly eerie ambiance. Then Chloe's voice enters, soft, breathy, and laced with a natural falsetto that feels both intimate and raw. There’s a clear emotional urgency in her tone that deepens the storytelling.

As the narrative unfolds, we see the love interest, Chris, spending time with another girl, and Chloe watching it all unravel. The visuals move seamlessly with the lyrics, one standout being:

“If you think you got him you’re just a heart inside his pocket ‘cause he won’t wear it on his sleeve.”

It’s a sharp, poetic line that hits harder when paired with the scene of Chloe slamming her phone down in frustration. The intensity builds as she’s shown navigating waves of anger, obsession, and heartbreak, emotions that echo through her performance with striking clarity.

What also stands out brightly is Chloe's vocal command. She moves with ease between soft, breath-like expressions and moments of piercing power, reflecting the track’s shifting emotional tides. This isn’t just a singer going through the motions; she’s fully immersed in the song’s emotional terrain, and it’s that connection to the material that captivates. Her voice conveys strength and vulnerability, flipping between the two like a switch, which makes every line land with purpose.

Another particular lyric that caught our attention was:

“Acting like you’re such a damn saint like you’re not robotically made”

-a clever, sharp indictment of disingenuous charm.

As the song unfolds and the audiovisuals lay down this dramatic emotional experience of Chloe Sofia, the musical arrangement swells and becomes more assertive. The guitar strumming grows more emphatic, mirroring the rising tension in her performance. Percussion shifts from subtle to more powerful, underscoring the escalating inner turmoil.

Then comes a dramatic interlude, Chloe is shown in a frenetic state, sprinting through her house in what feels like a moment of clarity breaking through. It’s as if a revelation is just around the corner, and the tension in both the sound and visuals signals that emotional transformation is near.

Following the storm of emotions, the video takes that triumphant turn toward clarity. Chloe reaches a point of catharsis, tearing Chris’s name off the wall and tossing it out the window, visually sealing the narrative arc with a sense of closure. It’s a moment of personal power, and it ties the entire storyline together with satisfying finality. We found ourselves rooting for her, then celebrating her decision to reclaim control and leave toxicity behind.

After reading about the song’s concept and experiencing the music, we were struck by how seamlessly Chloe merged abstract narrative with emotional realism. Knowing the backstory, that “Pulse” was inspired by a comic book-style plot, which was also penned by Chloe, involving a robot who deceives women to harvest their organs, adds an inventive layer of depth.

This metaphor of someone beautiful yet emotionally hollow reframes the way we interpret manipulative relationships, offering a fresh and hauntingly creative lens. It challenges the listener to reconsider how we normalize emotional predation, and that’s no small feat for a debut release. Chloe Sofia brings a sharp, intuitive intellect to her lyrics, weaving storytelling with real emotional stakes in a way that’s both memorable and deeply resonant.

“Pulse” is a seriously promising start, and we’re genuinely excited to see where she takes us next.

Chloe Sofia’s “Pulse” is a masterclass in lyrical storytelling, vocal brilliance, and fearless vulnerability

Chloe Sofia may be new to the recording scene, but her foundation as an artist is already impressively solid. A native of Milton, Ontario, she’s shown dedication beyond her years, writing her own material, performing regularly across the Greater Toronto Area, and balancing school with band gigs and solo sets.

Her music career kicked off in earnest when she caught the attention of Roy Hamilton III, who runs The Singer’s Company. After auditioning in the summer of 2024, Chloe was immediately signed, launching a creative collaboration that continues to shape her sound today.

Working with Roy, Chloe entered a new phase in her musical journey, recording “Pulse” in his Toronto studio surrounded by industry accolades and artistic history. The sessions were her first time fully collaborating in the production process, which added new layers and polish to her songwriting. While Chloe usually begins her compositions by crafting the chorus, an approach that helps solidify the theme and hook, Roy’s experience in arrangement helped bring out the nuances of her vision. Their partnership is grounded in mutual respect and shared purpose, and the result is a track that feels polished yet deeply personal.

Chloe’s passion for music is clear in every aspect of her work, from her lyricism to her performances. Even at just 15, she displays a rare artistic maturity that combines raw talent with thoughtful execution. She’s not just releasing songs—she’s building stories, forming emotional bridges with her audience, and showing a unique voice that doesn’t sound like anyone else.
