“In My Zone” is a ferocious blend of raw emotion and seismic beats, cementing Grim Logick as a trailblazer.
In a world where raw emotion and unfiltered truth collide, "In My Zone" emerges as a powerful anthem from an underground collective determined to speak for the unseen and unheard. We recently spoke with the enigmatic force behind the track, a multifaceted artist who balances multiple roles within a groundbreaking music network, and who’s been shaping his craft since his early teens. The artist, whose journey has been shaped by intense loss, personal reinvention, and a relentless drive to empower others, offers an unvarnished look into the passion, pain, and precision that fuel both his music and his mission.
"In My Zone" isn’t just a song; it’s a declaration. The artist’s voice pierces through the track, commanding attention with commanding vocals, relentless beats, and a thunderous bass that only adds to the track’s raw intensity. But beneath the surface, the music is more than just a statement. It’s a confession, a vulnerable, unfiltered exploration of the internal battles and external aspirations that define this artist’s life. In an industry obsessed with polish and perfection, the choice to remain true to oneself, to forego accessibility for authenticity, is a brave and radical act. And it’s that act of defiance that has shaped both his journey and the track itself.
From his early poetry-inspired roots to his current position as the founder of a rapidly growing music network, his story is as layered as his sound. In this candid conversation, he opens up about his creative process, the unique energy behind his collaborations, and the greater purpose that drives his artistic vision.
This is no ordinary track. Dive into the heart of "In My Zone" and discover what it truly means to be unapologetically yourself.

Here’s how it went:
Begin Interview:
Hello Grim Logick, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more intrigued to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.
Q. We loved “In My Zone” The collaboration of you and iLLLogick was overwhelming in the best way. Commanding vocals hit hard and an amazing beat and thunderous bass makes this track an automatic hit. When did you first realize the power of your voice and creative abilities, and what moment in your life transformed it from a personal, hobby expression to a tool for sharing your story with the world, ultimately laying the foundation for the impactful career we see today?
A. I started making music at 13, I’m 29 now. I found my voice around 19, then my fiance’ of a little over 4 years passed, and I quit for 5. I just came back in October of last year with a vengeance and an agenda. I am the Founder & Digital Multimedia Archtiect of 3NIGMA BRED MUSIC. iLLL is the Co-Founder & Curator & Strategy Catalyst. This isn’t a tool for sharing my story with the world. It has become my full time goal, and my soul’s urge to create a community that is a sanctuary for the outcasts. I’m determined to be a voice for the voiceless. The ethos is, “Empowering the Unseen, Amplifying the Unheard.”
Q. What message do you want to express with “In My Zone”? How do you hope that resonates with fans?
A. This one is for the Lost Boys (& Girls) of the world. The ones who give it all they have for the people that surround them, and extent that same energy to try and be productive for the population as a whole. The same ones that get forgotten, or ignored no matter how hard they try to be seen, or scream to be heard. The cover art is a literal depiction of myself at the 3NIGMA BRED: Underground Music Network Hub, with iLLLogick on the floor beside me using his laptop. (He is always on the floor… Seriously… Always). Those screens in the image are the 3NIGMA BRED logos. In fact, the centered screen on the bottom is a literal desktop screenshot of 3nigmabredmusic.com from my browser. The area we are in is a cell, my phone is on the ground to the right of me (ringing), my gun is on the desk beside me (always), and every faucet of the job I gave myself is evident throughout the image for anyone who decided to look.
Q. Can you tell us your full musical genre journey? Is this particular musical genre styling something you’ve always embraced from the very beginning of your journey, or has it evolved over time from influences or other genres you experimented with earlier?
A. Nah, I started off with poetry due to my middle school introduction to the late, Edgar Allen Poe. I’m from Ascension Parish, Louisiana… Right outside of Baton Rouge.. I was never bullied, I grew up wildin’.. But when I started reading my homies poetry… They looked at me like I was crazy. Alas, I’m not one for giving up when I’m committed to something.. So my brain tried to develop a plot to thicken the laughable poetry, into something palatable for my lil deviant friend group. At the time, all I cared to listen to was rock. Staind, 3 Days Grace, Apocalyptica, Shinedown, etc.. I discovered very early on (thanks to my asshole father) who blatantly set the record straight and convinced me I was not a man of pleasant vocal wavelength patterns.. So, I resorted to an eminem type beat on youtube… At 13 years old… It worked. Got the reactions I was hoping for.. Just haven’t stopped since. (Save for the 5-year hiatus, and a few run ins with the law/habits over the years)
Q. Can you tell us how you landed on the title of “In My Zone” and was it your first choice or was it an evolution? What does this title mean to you?
A. Man, look. I hear a beat I like and I start writing whatever it sees fit to compel out of my soul. This is where my mind was when I wrote it. It’s where my mind is today. A year of this whole collective thing, and we have an incredible core follower group.. For some reason though, people don’t seem to want to be a part of something beyond themselves outside of the enigmatic few. (Ha, see what I did there?) Which answers the puzzling questions, riddled in riddles, in, and of itself.. That’s the demographic we chose… Hard market, let me tell you. It also beautifully contrasts the mainstream construct of the term. I love it.
Q. Since “In My Zone” speaks to a lot of emotional complexity, does it ever feel difficult to reveal so much of yourself in such a comment and judgment-driven world, or do you find it liberating to express that level of vulnerability through your music?
A. The entire design of the brand I built is established around the construct of unfiltered, raw, expression. There ain’t nothing you, or anyone else can tell me anything about myself (my flaws specifically) that I don’t already know, and hate myself for… I know the path I chose, and the walk of redemption in front of me. No one else's opinion of me, who I am, what I represent, and what I stand for, means a damn thing to me. I love my daughters, my Momma, my siblings, and every member of The Network, and I hope they love me too. Beyond that, kick rocks.
Q. What was it about working with iLLLogick on this track that created such a dynamic, energetic synergy? What makes your collaboration unique compared to other projects you’ve worked on?
A. Not a damn thing. It’s the same dynamic every time we collaborate. Our last collaboration, “Overtime” is sitting at over 40,000 streams since it’s release in January, and it is literally built on the same premise, with the same duality. These are underground anthems.. Plain and simple. Just like our AMV of the song on the 3NIGMA BRED MUSIC, YouTube channel. We’re Goku/Vegeta & Sasuke/Naruto (The real ones will find the significance in the order of the names I just used :P), and that dynamic isn’t going to change.
Q. The cover art for “In My Zone” carries a powerful visual narrative. How did you come to that specific concept and what does it represent about the track and your personal journey?
A. Oops… I already covered that a few questions back… Only updated information I can give you, is it’s my work. All of 3NIGMA BRED MUSIC’s cover art is my work. Its decent, for sure. Same applies though from the answer I gave previously.
Q. You’ve mentioned the term “prison cell” when talking about your creative process. Can you explain what that means to you, and how you reconcile that with the freedom you also feel in your music?
A. Yeesh, oops again… So here’s the thing… I… Yeah, no disrespect… I gotta let Google Gemini answer this one for me. Hope you don’t mind…

Q. The track was recorded in a space that’s deeply personal to you. How did the intimate setting of iLLLogick's bedroom and living room influence the rawness and authenticity of the song’s creation?
A. Oh, please… In my entire career, I only got to spend roughly a year of it in an actual studio. The DIY home studio set up has been my method for 16 years. Half of my Spotify discography was recorded using various types of Bluetooth Headphones, and BandLab. This was the same setting, updated equipment. Another Tuesday.
Q. In “In My Zone,” you made a conscious decision not to make your sound “more accessible” for the masses. Can you speak to that choice and why you remain committed to authenticity rather than mainstream approval?
A. Oh wow, you guys actually did your research… What do I gain by being a copy-cat variant? If I pursued that methodology, I wouldn’t be unique. I prefer to be the original variant of myself in all things. I won’t deny the help of technology where business matters are concerned, but my craft, (beyond maybe an instrumental, or the mastering a bit) will never be watered down by anything other than the essence of “Me” where I am involved.
Q. You’ve built a platform that extends beyond just your music—what does the broader 3NIGMA BRED ecosystem represent, and why is it important for you to provide a space for other underground artists?
A. Oh, Hell… You reaaaaaally did your research. It represents The Fundamentals, The Foundation, and The Framework of the Underground. Not for just musicians, but for artists of any variant, any contributor, and any listener. This is where the internally wounded come to fight back. That is my life’s purpose. It may seem crazy to anyone ready this, but I am a LP #22. You either get it, or you don’t. This is what I was put on this Earth to do.
Q. What role does the concept of "empowering the unseen and amplifying the unheard" play in both your music and your work with 3NIGMA BRED?
A. That IS the role. Not the concept. It is the embodiment of it all. Plain, and simple.
Q. Your music often seems to reflect both internal battles and external aspirations. Do you find it challenging to merge these aspects of your life, or does music serve as the perfect outlet for both?
A. Absolutely, I find it challenging. Man, I barely get to make music. I went from a 7 night a week LIVE show that costed me my job where we were making so much music, and performing it so much, I got tired of it. Now, I stare at this computer from the second I wake up, till the second I got to sleep… Rinse, and repeat. I have no life outside of building The Network… I do have some pet projects locked away and have shared a minute snippet of them on social media. Beyond that, this is my outlet. I have never felt such a strong sense of purpose for anything in my life before this. It’s messed up.. But, I’m a whole father saying that… It kills me, but I am who I am… I just hope one day they understand.
Q. When you say that “In My Zone” is a confession rather than a celebration, can you elaborate on why you chose to approach the song in such a vulnerable and unfiltered way?
A. Because, as I stated previously.. I will not falter, or stumble where authenticity is regarded. There is not yet much to be celebrated.. If someone else sees the vision and lifts a little of the weight, maybe. Until then, I’ll work until it either bears fruit, or kills the tree.
Q. Your journey seems to be deeply intertwined with your commitment to building something from the ground up. How has this DIY approach shaped not only your music but also your philosophy as an artist and creator?
A. It has made me extremely angry. I am so disappointed in what the music world has become.. But, I also see it’s evolution, and it’s potential for those that don’t have the means to express themselves… A catch .22, and I’ll just have to eat the bullet on that one.
Q. And finally, Grim Logick, we can't thank you enough for sharing these intimate details! So, what's next? Can you give us the inside scoop on your upcoming projects and what fans should be excited about? We'd love to be the first to share the news!
A. Aww, yeah, man. I’m wrapping up “THE TRIIINITY 3P” and for the 5th time, in 10 years, postponing “The Return” album until further notice. The producer I was using… Yeah, man, I’d just as soon produce my own beats for that. “THE TRIIINITY 3P” is the all encompassing project that will offer listeners a deep dive into the psyche, and the origin of the brand as a whole. It’s a really cool project with too many intricacies people will never find, but it’s going to be all for my daughters and “The Network”.. After that, I see where we’re at in our slooooooooooooooooooow growth progress… And if it hasn’t sped up, I slow down my release rate and focus primarily on the collective aspect. If it has, I dive back into music in a way the world hasn’t seen since my teenage years… Yo, thanks for this interview. This was extremely detailed. I enjoyed it. Sorry I got it back to you last minute… Later.
Grim Logick, thank you so much, we appreciate you taking the time to talk to us!
