That is the emotional terrain surrounding this release. It is not about the collapse itself, but about what happens after the dust settles and the body finally catches up to the mind. “talk2u” lives in that space where longing, relief, and self awareness collide, creating something raw, restless, and unexpectedly empowering.
What makes this chapter especially gripping is how much of it was built from instinct rather than polish. The emotion came first. The sound followed. Hello DIV1NE, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more intrigued to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.
Q. What is “talk2u” about for you on a personal level, why did you choose that title, and where were you emotionally when you first started writing it?
A. talk2u is about a very unspoken emotion all breakups lead to. That moment you push through that layer of sadness and rage you cast over yourself and realise the truth, you start to think about getting better, and maybe this breakup was the best thing that could've happened.
Q. You describe the relationship behind this song as poisonous. What was the moment you realized walking away was no longer just painful but necessary, and how did this song help you process or find closure?
A. I never thought walking away was necessary, if anything it was forced upon me. Every ounce of my being wished to be in that relationship, however after being broken up with I truly realised just how toxic it was. I needed to be away.
Q. After pushing through the heaviest part of the breakup, what surprised you most about the version of yourself that showed up on the other side, and do you feel that shift has shaped how future releases will be created or shared with your fans?
A. the most surprising thing was the confidence, the want to meet and see people. Though I still have my issues I am sure these emotions will be touched on in later projects.
Q. As a self producer, how do you stay connected to the raw emotion of the original idea while still building a polished and cohesive track, and does that creative push ever feel conflicting?
A. The way I produce to capture that emotion is to not worry about detailed mixing and stuff until later on. Vibes are the most important part of a song in my opinion, as long as I capture that, it can be fixed and polished later.
Q. “Talk2u” carries both release and confidence. Was there an emotional process behind translating that shift into sound rather than lyrics alone, and what do those textures allow you to express that words cannot?
A. I allowed my voice to come out as rough and textured as it wanted to, I shouted almost every lyric of the chorus, but then kept it heavily reduced in parts of the verses. this part was less intentional and more just the emotions guiding me.
Q. As a teaser, if you only had one sentence to describe “talk2u” and pull someone into its meaning, what would you say to make them want to listen?
A. When you want to speak to someone you know isn't good for you, but you realise you only miss the good parts, however big or small those moments were. You don't miss them as a whole.
Q. Can you share something about yourself that fans might not already know?
A. I'm from Essex born and raised, tall at 6ft 3" and I love Korean chicken haha.
Q. Looking ahead after this release, what part of your story do you feel most compelled to explore next now that this chapter has been fully spoken out loud?
A. A lot of my next releases lined up focus on confidence and rage, truly letting it all out. Some of my upcoming songs really delve deep into problems I am sure may people can relate to.
