Begin Interview:
Hello Deadheat, we’re thrilled to have you here for this interview! We've had an amazing time exploring your music and diving into your creative journey. Now, we’re even more intrigued to get a deeper look into both your brand and your personal and professional inspirations.
Q. We loved “3 out of 4.” The Deadheat’s cohesive sound is explosive and energizing. The guitars and blazing drums combine with the vocals to transform into your very own force of nature. When did you first realize the power of your unity, and what was the moment in your career that transformed it from a garage band into the powerful group with such an amazing story, ultimately laying the foundation for the impactful career we see today?
A. I don’t we see ourselves as a powerful group – more of a message of positivity and fun. We are just 4 guys doing what we love and trying to be nostalgic, leaning on the influences of our past to create music we love to listen to.
Q. What message do you want to express with “3 out of 4”? How do you hope that resonates with fans?
A. The underlying idea for the song came from whenever we talk about a topic / thing as a band 3 out of 4 band members like it. i.e. sports / heavy music etc. The actual message of the song is about being inclusive and it doesn’t matter what your interests are – being different is awesome!
Q. Deadheat’s message of inclusivity and valuing individual perspectives is so powerful. What methods do you use to ensure that everyone in the band feels heard, even when you don’t always agree?
A. We have a group chat that we are all included in, as I am sure most bands do. Whenever we decide on a new idea/plan, as a band, especially an important one, it always must be 4/4. If one person disagrees then we go back to the drawing board, that is how we ensure everyone is always heard.
Q. You mentioned embracing and accepting uniqueness in "3 Out of 4." In what ways do you think being in Deadheat has helped each of you grow as individuals?
A. I think self confidence has been a major positive from being in Deadheat – I can’t speak for everyone but I know personally (Ricardo), I have grown in confidence in my ability and my self-worth has grown as well.
Q. "3 Out of 4" seems to have a positive vibe despite the band's differences. Was it intentional to create something so uplifting, or did that energy come naturally through the songwriting?
A. We are a positive band. Even though the song is about a difference of opinions / interests – it was always going to be a song about positivity and inclusiveness.
Q. The theme of unity through differences is powerful. How do you think this message resonates with your fans, especially in today’s polarized world?
A. Before this song was even released, we were playing it live. We knew instantly that it resonated with fans by the crowd participation in the “Heys”
Q. What are some challenges you’ve faced in your journey as a band, and how have you overcome them while staying true to your identity?
A. It is hard not to get sucked into politics, religion and all the other facets of life that does fuel a lot of bands lyrically. We try and convey a positive message most of the time and even some of our more serious songs always have an underlying message of positivity.
Q. As you prepare for 2026, how would you describe the evolution and change of Deadheat’s sound since you first started?
A. I think our music is just getting better and better. When we first started writing music together we mainly relied on Adam for the creative spark – we now all bring parts to each song we write and it just makes the journey easier and the product that comes out the other side is just better.
Q. Humor seems to be a big part of your band's identity, especially with your live shows. How does humor help to convey the deeper messages in your music?
A. There are two things we want at a live show – people to laugh and have a good time and to jump. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and when the fans know that they relax and they want to have good time and we have the music to help them do that.
Q. You’re about to hit the road to promote your new singles and EP. How do you prepare for a tour, both mentally and physically, while ensuring you maintain the energy fans expect?
A. Practice , Sleep and then just keeping the vibe up with our band mates.
Q. For Deadheat, what’s the most rewarding aspect of performing live? Is it the connection with the audience, the adrenaline, or something else?
A. It is when we ask the crowd to jump and they accept the offer. There is nothing more fun then watching a crowd jump to our music.
Q. Deadheat, we can’t thank you enough for sharing these intimate details! So, what’s next? Can you give us the inside scoop on your upcoming projects and what fans should be excited about? We'd love to be the first to share the news!
A. We have some new singles we are dropping towards the end of the year and then we will begin working on our first full length album to be released in 2026.
Deadheat, thank you so much, we appreciate you taking the time to talk to us!
