Title: Music Journalist​
We are excited to offer an internship opportunity for aspiring music journalists! As a Music Journalist Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in writing and reporting about emerging artists, industry trends, and music news. You will work closely with our editorial team to develop your writing skills, conduct research, and contribute to the production of high-quality content.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
Assist in writing articles, news pieces, and features about emerging artists, new music releases, and music industry events.
Help develop story ideas and contribute to brainstorming sessions with the editorial team.
Research:
Conduct research on various music genres, artists, and industry trends to inform articles and features.
Assist in gathering background information and preparing interview questions.
Editorial Support:
Participate in editing and proofreading processes to ensure content accuracy and quality.
Help with fact-checking and verifying information for published articles.
Interviews and Reporting:
Assist with conducting interviews with artists, producers, and industry professionals, either by phone or email.
Attend music events, concerts, and industry functions to report on and gather content for articles.
Social Media and Engagement:
Support the promotion of articles and features through social media and other online platforms.
Engage with readers by responding to comments and feedback in a professional manner.
Administrative Tasks:
Organize and manage editorial materials, including drafts, research notes, and interview transcripts.
Assist with various administrative tasks as needed by the editorial team.
Qualifications:
Education:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Music, or a related field, or recent graduate.
Experience:
Previous experience in writing or journalism is a plus, but not required.
A strong interest in music and familiarity with music industry terminology.
Skills:
Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and basic digital media tools is a plus.
