AK Stella releases "Wicked Works" with a story to tell about betrayal.
I really liked the organ-sounding intro of this song. AK Stella absolutely maximized this sound, creating an eerie sense of instant caution, It's like an audible horror film where the killer is walking up the stairs and we are terrified because we have no way out.
Ak Stella asks, "Have you ever been betrayed by a friend? Well, I have. I wrote this song about a friend that wasn't who they said they were. Wicked Works was written in the hopes that karma will eventually catch up to this person and I'll be standing by, watching."
Following this is a beautiful vocal display in the form of an edict. This message shows a lot of pain caused by this person(s) deception. The supporting arrangement has steady climbs and bursts and this has a superb feel but I definitely loved the bolstered drum fill that just jumped out and kept our senses on alert which is befitting of this song's texture.
With lyrics like, "lips are pretty loose" and "talked talked talked beyond my back" this song is relatable to everyone, because who hasn't experienced being stabbed in the back or screwed over!? (If you say you haven't then maybe you are the person doing this to people!!! .... umm...ya - we've got one eye on you!!!!).... In fact, AK Stella made sure you heard it from her "keep an open eye". This artist also displays some talents that seem to always have been a part of her arsenal because as a young writer at only 16, she already had works published. We will be keeping an ear out for more from this exciting and creative individual.
